Some users have serious “problems” with iPhoneSimFree unlock

Earlier on today, numerous users reported a sim communication error. Gizmodo reported a baseband communication error on some types of sim card.  Thankfully, iPhoneSimFree has now released an update, and all resellers should receive it soon,

I think iPhoneSimFree were perspiring a lot when they heard it first, but somebody dropped a clean hanky. -Ed

looks like iphonesimfree have made all they’re gonna from this, with the free unlock finally out.
apparently it takes 20 mins to unlock at the moment but they will release a simple one click .app that should do it in 3-4 mins.

Hi Dave, thanks for your comment. It is great news that the free unlock has been released, but I have heard that you need serious computer knowledge to use it. Plus, it is running of a command prompt, which most people have no idea what that is! It would be great if they release a 3-4 minute one, but if it takes the same amount of time to come out, I’d say we’ll be waiting!

This blog is currently based in Ireland, (you’re in Ireland too I think) so I think that the iPhoneSimFree way is good because you can buy an iPhone already unlocked and shipped, which you can’t with the Dev team’s one.

Yeh it does look a bit tough for the average joe computer user at the min.
from what i’ve seen in their posts they intend to release a 3-4 min version within the next week or 2. But even using iphonesimfree version you still have to jailbreak your phone. “Huh” most people will say to that.
i suppose iphonesimfree version is a lot better than what we had before it.
Like the TurboSim card which is sold out on Bladox website. they were selling for $80 (€57). But of-course they were on ebay for about €200-€300
Luckily for me I’m off on holidays so I can pick an iphone up when there.
I haven’t really looked at the price difference but I’m sure that it would be cheaper (and I know a little more effort too) to buy an iphone, have it delivered and buy unlock seperately.
When you buy it already unlocked you don’t know what method they used to unlock it. Only what they tell you. So there can be a number of problem right there if something goes wrong with the phone or you update firmware. Which unlock sites directions do you follow then.
Anyway enough ranting from me. Nice site you got going Ed. I will stick a link up from my .mac site. Do you have any fancy flash or gif icon i can put up so you site will be more visible on my page.

Hi Dave, just looked over to engadget, THE 3-5 minute version is out! And it’s graphical! Stay tuned for a new article.

    Yeah, I have a gif (I don’t have flash) and it’s located here: http://technoessence.com/wp-content/technogif.gif

What’s your site? I’d love to put up a link from here.
