No Physical GooglePhone, just software.

The NewYorkTimes is reporting that there will be no “Gphone” or “GooglePhone,” as of the near future (pretty much 3 years). Google now wants to break into the mobile web advertising market, which at the moment is quite lackluster.
Google, the search giant is hoping that carriers will see what Google sees. For instance, the more advertising that appears on your phone, the less you pay for it, and vice versa. This method could be applied to phones (made by 3rd parties) as soon as 2008. Google hopes to reveal the workings of it’s 2 year long mobile software project that could change the phone market just like they changed how the world uses the internet. Analysts say that Google’s effect on the mobile market is not going to be half as big, as the iPhone’s impact at least not as quickly. -Ed
