Meteor Ireland announce “slightly” better roaming rates
All Meteor Ireland customers will be charged a maximum of 59cent per minute while roaming within Europe, while 29c (max) will be charged for receiving calls. This is a real plus for current Meteor customers, but I doubt it will give many people the urge to switch to the network.
Meteor currently has 18% of the market in Ireland (around 875,000). Further reductions will be made applicable for customers roaming in England, which means that the above will be on top of Meteor’s partnership T-mobile reductions.
“Meteor is introducing these reduced prices for all Meteor customers in advance of the implementation timelines and Meteor strongly believes that action in this area was needed and justified. With the introduction of wholesale charge caps, Meteor is pleased that our customers can now benefit from lower retail charges when roaming.”
