John Gormley likes Micheál Martins reputation after Smoking Ban.

Okay. Disregard that headline as John Gormley didn’t mention Mr Martin in his statement nor did he mention the smoking ban or his reputation.
However, I have the knowledge to assume that John Gormley was himself involved in his own statement, but you may also disregard that.
As you may have heard in Brian Cowen’s Annual Budget 2008, the government has announced plans to rid the Shamrock Isle of incandescent light bulbs by 2009.
In quoting Mr Gormley directly, he said:
“The aim of such a move will be to end the use of incandescent light bulbs in Ireland. These bulbs use technology invented during the age of the steam engine. By getting rid of these bulbs we will save 700,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year. It has been estimated that consumers will save €185 million in electricity costs every year as a result of the measure.”
Of Course - by getting rid of these “Steam Engine Age” Light Bulbs, we’re not going to be left with no light in our homes, just energy efficient light and the bulbs that produce it. -Ed
