iPhone for Ireland. (Half Rumour)

Also Note: This is an announcement on Apple Inc releasing iPhones for the Irish Market, not the iPhone being able to work on an Irish Market. iPhones have been unlocked, but this article is an announcement on the iPhone officialy being announced by Apple INc in Ireland.
As Steve Jobs announced the new iPod touch, thinner than the iPhone, but exact same design, and the iPod classic, with the new iPod nano, somebody’s spilled the beans at the Apple Factory in Hollyhill, located in Cork City, because the iPhone’s coming by Christmas, if not in the next three weeks. Hush, the phone has Vodafone Icons, so this must mean Vodafone! And guess what, all newer B.M.W.’s are fully compatible so, well YAY! An announcement is now imminent.
I am 95% percent sure that what I have heard is true, but always their is that 5% lingering. Anyway, the phones are definitely in Apple’s Irish Factory, which is in Cork. But what if they are sending them to other countries in Europe? Well Apple have factories in
So where would they be sending them to?
Apart from the iPhone in Ireland rumour,

(Image: Engadget) Apple announced the iPod touch, which has the same design as the iPhone, but thinner. Of Course, the touch has no phone feature, but it does have an internet browser for WI-FI, but, that’s not the same as having the internet everywhere. It has songs on the go, (iTune’s wireless) which I assume will be added to the iPhone. It has way more storage, but I think the iPhone will get that soon, and maybe even thinner, and with 3g! Then with that the iPod Classics, thinner than the 5th Gen, and more storage, while a little bit thicker for EVEN more storage. It looks great. The iPod nano fatty (or the official iPod nano) got a major facelift, and is smaller than the classic, thinnner, and the same 2-inch screen. The iPod shuffle, got a red version, so all good there. The iPod touch also has YouTube. But of course, the touch has no Gmail, maps or anything the iPhone has. No camera either, but if you have a Nokia N73 (or other great phone), I’d get the iPod touch, and steer clear from the iPhone, unless you want everyone to think you’re a little spoilt brat, and I’m sure they already do. But if you have say a battered K800i, I’d get an iPhone all round.
We’re just wondering? Which does Apple Consider to be more superior, the iPhone or the iPod touch?

There’s just been an announcement in the london store press conference that apple has in fact gone with O2 for the UK iPhone. Do you think there could be a different deal in the other european countries?
Still no 3g, that’s what I’m holding out for…

Hi Scoby, like you site..(as I’m sure everyone else does) saw the announcement but was away from my computer at a meeting, I attempted to post an article, but of course everyone was staring at my iPhone, (got it yesterday) from UnlockThatiPhone.com. Oh yes, it will be different. This is what Apple said, they are taking each market into account, and will not just say o2 and off with it. Presumably o2 here also though, since everybody in Vodafone Stores seem to be snubbing the iPhone, which if there was a “chance” I think they’d quite happily love it.

I understand that the iphone can be unlocked, but what about the contract that was supposed to go with it? Isn’t that started in your name when you buy the phone from a retailer? Or is it just sold unactivated?

Hi Scoby, you can buy an iPhone in any Apple Store and then activate a contract with at&t with iTunes (Or just fake activate it with a suitable program). OR, you can walk into an at&t store, and set up a contract there.
So the first option is the only viable one. So basically, it is sold unactivated from the Apple Store, and activated from the at&t store.
